Terry J. Fricks

Terry J. Fricks is the founder and past CEO of The Fricks Company, Fort Worth, TX. The contracting company specializes in industrial concrete floors in the U.S., Canada, and South America. The Fricks Co. is a long-time member of ASCC and ACI. For the past 30 years Terry has been a member of ACI 223 Shrinkage Compensating Concrete, ACI 302 Construction of Concrete Floors, and ACI 360 Design of Slabs-on-Ground. He is an ACI Fellow, a recipient of ACI’s Roger H. Corbetta Award for significant innovation in concrete construction and received ACI’s Wason Medal for most meritorious paper. Terry has given numerous seminars and authored a variety of articles on topics including cracking in slabs, shrinkage compensating concrete, durability for slab-on-grade, FF and FL tolerances, and superflat floors. He has received 26 Golden Trowel Awards. In 2006 he was named by Concrete Construction Magazine as one of the ten most influential people in the concrete construction industry. He is also a recipient of the Sam A. Face Award for accomplishments and contributions to the art and science of high-quality horizontal concrete construction.
