2022 Student Challenge

In past years ACI and the ASCC partnered on an annual student competition that came from ACl's Construction Liaison Committee (CLC). Students were asked to research and resolve a concrete construction question. Winners were awarded cash prizes and presented their proposal at the ACI CLC meeting. A couple of years ago ACI dropped this program and ASCC made the decision to continue the contest.

Please review the ASCC Problem Statement for the 2022 competition. We sincerely hope you will choose to enter one or more teams in this challenge. We believe it's an excellent exercise for both construction and engineering students and provides strong insight into the reality of the design and construction industry.

Awards

Entries will be judged by a panel of ASCC contractor members. Their decision is final.

Winning teams will be asked to present their entries at an ASCC meeting at the World of Concrete 2023 January 17-19, in Las Vegas, NV. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in the amounts of 1st—$1,000, 2nd—$750, 3rd—$500.

Schedule

• Final submission for a team entry is December 2, 2022.
• The winning teams will be selected and notified no later than December 30, 2022.
• Winning teams will present their entries at an ASCC meeting at the World of Concrete 2023 January 17-19, in Las Vegas, NV.
